Le Méridien St Julian’s Hotel & Spa has just clinched the World Travel Award as Malta’s Leading Spa Resort for 2016.

These awards, presented last night during a gala ceremony in Sardinia, Italy, were voted for by travel and tourism professionals worldwide, and recognise the commitment to excellence which each organisation has demonstrated in the last 12 months.

“This is an accolade we’re very proud to receive. It validates our efforts and once again puts our name, and that of Malta, on the international map, while encouraging us to continue contributing to our tourism-based economy,” general manager Alex Incorvaja said.

“Being recognised by the industry’s top global professionals motivates my team and I to continue focusing on delivering innovative treatments that surpass our clients’ expectations,” he said.

Established in 1993, the World Travel Awards - hailed as the Oscars of the travel industry - acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the brand is recognised globally as the hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire.

At last year’s World Travel Awards, Le Méridien St Julian’s Hotel & Spa won the title of Leading Boutique Hotel in Malta.

The spa’s facilities, Incorvaja added, were perfectly suited for both the leisure traveller and those on business seeking an oasis of calm.

“Myoka Lotus Spa is also the ideal refuge for Maltese seeking a short break from their digitally-saturated lives, » he said. « It promises to give a sense of relaxation that lasts long after you would have hung your robe and returned to the daily grind.”

Incorvaja said that what distinguished the spa from the rest were, among others, the fantastic facilities, professionally trained staff and unique treatments.

Designed in a contemporary Balinese style, the Lotus Spa offers a variety of face and body treatments performed by experienced spa therapists from around the world. The spa specialists design experiences which incorporate customised treatments that work around the guest’s individual needs.

One of the spa’s specialities is Ayurveda, the world's most ancient system of preventive healthcare. Developed in India over 6,000 years ago, this practice is a natural approach for creating balance and strengthening the body's healing abilities. The spa also offers a wide selection of holistic treatments including Thai, Oriental, crystal and chakra balancing treatments, together with a wide range of anti-ageing treatments for face and body.
