Saviour Balzan: ‘Unverified rumours erode accountability of newspapers’
Newspapers are held to account over what they publish, and are faced with legal action when they get it wrong.
Saviour Balzan discusses the resignation of Adrian Hillman, Managing Director of Allied Newspapers, and says that an inquiry at Allied Newspapers was based on unverified rumours. “Their actions are not in pursuit of the truth but only serve to further confirm the country’s appetite for spin, gossip and hatred.”
