Heavily-decomposed body found at sea

The Armed Forces of Malta have recovered a body some 18 nautical miles off Tigné, in Sliema.

The corpse, heavily decomposed, was brought ashore this afternoon by the army.

The AFM informed the police of the discovery at around 2.40pm after the alarm was raised by a fisherman.

A magisterial inquiry has been appointed whilst the police are investigating the case.
