Paiyouji Plus, a so-called fast acting herbal slimming tea from China, has been found to contain a substance, sibutramine, which is not permitted in food.
The Superintendence of Public Health warned that the product should not be consumed as a precautionary measure due to possible adverse cardiac effects.
Medicinal products containing sibutramine were withdrawn from the market in 2010 after heart attacks and strokes were noted in some patients.
