Air Malta to operate charter flights to UK Regional Airports

As from 1 May, the Maltese airline will be operating weekly charter flights to and from Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Newcastle and Norwich Airports. The charter operations to these airports will be in addition to the airline's regular schedule services to and from London Heathrow and Gatwick Airports as well as to Manchester.

These charter services will run till 30 October.

Commenting on these services Chief Commercial Officer Philip Saunders said: "These charter flights increase accessibility to the islands from regional UK airports and thus offer travellers the opportunity to reduce travelling time and costs.

"These services were made possible following the support received from the respective airports as well as from tour operators and travel trade partners in the area," Saunders said.

He added that it is not the first time that Air Malta operated flights to these airports. "However such operations further confirm the airline's commitment to boost incoming tourism to Malta from the UK - which is Malta's primary tourism market. We expect to carry around 48,000 passengers on these services", he said.

Air Malta offers full services on its charter flights by offering refreshments, 20Kgs for checked in baggage and up to 10Kgs as hand luggage allowance. Flights can also be booked from the airline's portal www.airmalta.com
