Marsaxlokk LNG terminal: Tomorrow on Reporter

Reporter on TVM to discuss Labour’s energy plan and the proposed anchoring of the floating LNG terminal

Reporter on TVM will tomorrow discuss the government's proposed floating gas terminal anchored in Delimara.

The government's proposed floating LNG terminal will see a 215MV gas plant and liquefied natural gas storage anchored permanently to a jetty outside Marsaxlokk Bay.

Its decision has however, been heavily criticised by the Nationalist Party which is claiming that it would impose health risks.

Reporter will tomorrow examine the negative effects, if any, that the gas terminal could impose on residents' health, the visual health and property prices.

MediaToday Managing Editor Saviour Balzan will analyse whether the PN's derision into the gas storage plant is justified and will also scrutinise preliminary studies that have deemed the position of the tanker as secure.

Is it necessary for the government to change its plan? Will the ministry conduct further studies?

Alongside Saviour Balzan, MEP candidates Therese Commodini Cachia and Miriam Dalli will also discuss whether the government's plan is really prioritising its political goals over residents' health or whether Labour's energy plan is committed to reduce energy tariffs and provide Malta cleaner energy.

Reporter on TVM will also see interviews with Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi and Marsaxlokk mayor Edric Micallef.

The programme is produced and presented by Saviour Balzan, assisted by journalist Jerome Caruana Cilia and the MediaToday newsroom.

Reporter is aired live every Monday at 6.55pm on TVM. The programme is repeated on TVM2 on Monday at 10.15pm.

Didn't the pn say that such tankers were not available? How did the pl find one? What is the nuclear potential in my house if i have 50 litres petrol in my car which is in my garage, 1 15 litre gas tak for my cooker, 1 spare and another in my gas heater? Or what if i am sitting on the fuel tank of an arriva bus, what is the potential there?
