The Ministry for Gozo has spent €66,550 to acquire an eco-truck and an eco-cab for the Gharb Local Council as part of the Eco Gozo Smart Civic Centre project.

“Gozo should be branded as an island that gives maximum priority towards the protection of the environment that we inherited from our fathers and that we are obliged to pass on to our children,” Gozo Minister Anton Refalo said. “With these two new vehicles, the Gharb Local Council will be able to provide a cleaner and more sustainable means of transport for this locality."

Residents and tourists will be able to use the eco-cab, while the eco-truck will take the place of an old second-hand truck that is currently being used.

“I urge more local councils to invest in initiatives in favour of a cleaner environment,” Refalo said.
