In the Press: Gaffarena property seller could face heavy taxes

The family who sold Mark Gaffarena a quarter of a property in Valletta for €139,762 may be faced with a hefty tax bill worth more than the sale price. A tax expert said that the bill, including tax and duty, could rise to €180,000. As buyer, Gaffarena could be exposed to an additional payment of €50,523.
