Belgian pleads guilty to assaulting three officers

A 24-year old Belgian man was conditionally discharged for two years this morning after pleading guilty to assaulting three policemen who tried to help him while in a drunken state.

Lluis Sola Mateo, who lives in Msida, pleaded guilty to assaulting three police officers, disobeying their orders and breaching the peace, as well as being in a drunken state in a public place.

Lawyer Dr. Antonchich said his client was sorry for his actions and promised it would not happen again.
