Woman crashes car into Floriana arches seriously injured

The distinguishable Floriana arches took a dent earlier this afternoon as a 50-year old female driver crashed her car into the structure and was hospitalised, Police have said. 

The woman is from Qrendi and crashed her Citroen C1 on St Anne's street at around 1:30pm as she was driving towards Valletta.

Two emergency doctors, members of the police and the Civil Protection Department went on site.

The 50-year old woman was transported to hospital in an ambulance. She is currently at Mater Dei where her serious injuries are being treated.

Police investigations are ongoing.
