The expected bad weather has arrived, as thunder and hail hit the Maltese islands hard

Wind speeds of up to 88 km/hr are expected to hit Malta over the next 24 hours, as the weather is expected to deteriorate further on Saturday evening.

The islands were hit by a hail storm of Saturday afternoon leaving most of the island uncharacteristically white.

Thunder storms are expected over the course of Saturday night and are expected to run through till Sunday with Force eight and nine winds expected.  

Temperatures on Saturday evening are expected to hit lows of 6 degrees Celsius, while the temperature on Sunday is expected to reach a high of 13 degrees Celcius. 

The weather is expected to improve on Tuesday, when the temperature is expected to go up to 16 degrees Celcius are expected.
