Texas shooting: Eight dead including gunman

In the city of Plano, Texas, 8 were killed in a shooting at a residence, which was reportedly prompted by a dispute between a man and woman

Authorities in Texas claim that at least 8 were killed, including the gunman, after a shooting at a home in the city of Plano, in Texas.

The shooting took place at 8pm Sunday night, during what has been reported as a party, brought together to watch a Dallas Cowboys football match.

According to a witness interviewed by a Fox News affiliate, a man arrived at the house, had an argument with a woman outside, drew an automatic weapon and began firing shots.

“They were standing outside and they’re arguing. The woman was trying to go back in and as she was going back in the house you see the man pull out his gun and started to release”, said the witness, Crystal Sugg.

“He just started letting then go. It was an automatic. You could hear it go off multiple times, you could hear it just ring off”, she said.

Plano Police spokesman David Tilley said that police initially responded to a report of shots fired. When they arrived at the residence, the officer confronted the suspected shooter. Tilley said the officer then opened fire, killing the suspect.

Two other people were injured in the shooting but their conditions have not yet been released.

The victims and she suspect have not been identified and any relationship between the suspect and victims is not yet known. However all those killed and injured are believed to be adults.

An investigation is ongoing.
