Six-year-old amongst six injured in Mellieha head-on crash

Six people have been hospitalized after being injured in a head-on crash in Triq Louis Wettinger, Mellieha.

The incident occurred at around 5:00pm when a Toyota Coaster driven by a 36-year-old man residing in Zabbar crashed into an oncoming Toyota Aygo driven by a 25-year-old man residing in Mellieha.

Both drivers, as well as four British passengers in the van – a 48-year-old man, a 38-year-old woman and two girls aged 10 and six respectively, were injured and conveyed to Mater Dei Hospital in an ambulance.  

The extent of the injuries is not yet known.

Both vehicles suffered extensive damage.

Investigations are ongoing.
