Baby girl, nine months, drowns in Cospicua residence
Police investigating the death of a baby girl who drowned in a private residence in Cospicua.
The Police have confirmed that an inquiry has been ordered into the death of a nine-month-old baby.
The baby girl was reportedly left alone in a bath. The Police said that the incident happened at around 4:40pm in a residence in Cospicua in an area known as 'Fuq San Pawl'.
Initial information received states that the mother of the baby is an 18-year-old woman who lives with her mother. The young mother went to a friend's house and allegedly forgot her daughter in the bath.
The girl was taken to the Cospicua Health Centre. From there she was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital. Doctors at the hospital unfortunately confirmed that the baby had lost her life.
