First batch of Labour MEP candidates to be announced on Thursday
Labour Party to announce its first batch of candidates for the 2014 MEP elections in two days’ time.
Former Labour prime minister Alfred Sant is now vying for a seat in the European Parliament.
The Labour Party will be announcing its first batch of candidates for the 2014 MEP elections next Thursday, MaltaToday has learnt.
As widely reported, LGBT consultative council chairman Cyrus Engerer, former ONE journalist Miriam Dalli, former Labour prime minister Alfred Sant and MEP Marlene Mizzi are among those expected to contest the euro election on a Labour ticket.
Newcomers are expected to include hypnotherapist David Attard, architect Lino Bianco, former Civil Protection head Peter Cordina, lecturer Ivan Grixti and family doctor Michael Portelli.
Qala mayor Clint Camilleri was also approached by the party to submit his nomination. Contacted by MaltaToday, Camilleri said he was still mulling the decision.
