Minor damage is caused by a package bomb at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris but no injuries were incurred according to officials.
Minor damage was caused by a package bomb which exploded at the Indonesian Embassy in Paris this morning but no injuries were incurred according to the police and Indonesia’s foreign minister.
An employee at the embassy discovered and stepped back from a suspicious looking package before it exploded.
A Police official said that minor damage was caused to a window but no injuries were incurred by the employee.
Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa said that they were still attempting to determine whether the explosion was intentionally directed against the Indonesia embassy or whether it was coincidental.
Natalegawa said that the embassy would remain open, vigilant and undeterred from continuing with their activities.
According to the foreign minister, it was still too early to ascertain whether there was a connection between the mail bomb and the attack on a Jewish school in Southern France leaving four dead.
