Blade runner's brother acquitted
Court proceedings keep haunting the Pistorius brothers as Carl Pistorius was charged with the homicide of a motorcyclist Marietjie Barnard in South Africa.
The Vanderbijlpark Magistrate's Court acquitted the brother of athletic star Oscar Pistorius of culpable homicide after the magistrate ruled that Carl, 28, was not driving in a negligent manner when the motorcyclist crashed into his SUV in March 2008.
Marietjie Barnard had succumbed to her injuries and died in hospital. The court also ruled that the victim, who at time of the incident was 36, was over speeding.
The case came in the shadow of Oscar Pistorius being charged with premeditated murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine's Day when he mistook her for a burglar.
