Nine Turkey-backed rebels killed in Syrian clashes

Nine Turkey-backed Syrian rebels were killed and another 32 wounded on Thursday fighting in an operation to push Daesh militants away from the Turkish border area in Syria, the Turkish military said on Friday.

Turkish warplanes hit 18 targets in the region, destroying 15 buildings used by Daesh fighters, while US-led coalition warplanes killed three of the militants in air strikes, according to the military statement.
