Man grievously injured in fight

A man was grievously injured in a fight in Xaghra, Gozo on Sunday night, the police said on Monday.

The police said they were informed of a fight at Triq it-Tmienja u Ghoxrin ta’ April 1688 in Xaghra at roughly 11pm on Sunday.

From investigations it transpired that two men, both from Xaghra, one aged 45 and one aged 58 had been involved in the fight.

The 58-year-old man was allegedly hit with a hard object.

The man was taken to the Gozo General Hospital where he was certified as having suffered grievous injuries.

The 45-year-old suffered light injuries.
