An armed man held up an establishment in St Paul’s Pay on Wednesday night, getting away with an undisclosed amount of cash, the police said.

The man, who was clad completely in black and was allegedly brandishing a firearm, entered the store and demanded that its cashier - a 62-year-old woman from St Paul’s Bay - hand over the cash register’s money. The suspect subsequently fled the scene.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

Magistrate Natasha Galea Sciberras started an inquiry on the case, and appointed a number of experts to assist her.

Police investigations are ongoing.
