Online applications for 215 MCAST part-time courses to open on Modnay 18th
Online applications for 215 MCAST part-time courses starting in March open on Monday 18 February on www.mcast.edu.mt/shortcourses.
MCAST's part-time courses provide adults and young persons aged 16 and over with an opportunity to acquire new skills and qualifications through evening classes or Saturday morning sessions. This represents a convenient and flexible option for individuals whose jobs, businesses or family responsibilities prohibit them from taking up conventional full-time day courses.
Most part-time courses include a combination of classroom sessions and hands-on training in well-equipped laboratories and workshops. MCAST has been successfully implementing this vocational education model based on learning by doing for over 10 years, to help thousands of individuals develop their potential and achieve successful careers. Each part-time course is delivered by experienced lecturers, and all students are provided with several additional resources, including detailed class notes and free use of the MCAST libraries.
The list of training opportunities starting next month includes new courses in jewellery making, landscape and seascape painting, alternative ceramics firing techniques, 3D digital design, barbering techniques, basic computer techniques for parents and guardians, welding and motor vehicle basic maintenance. For the first time in Malta, the College's Aircraft Maintenance Training Centre is also offering one of its popular courses leading to the EASA Cat B1.1 aircraft maintenance licence examinations as a part-time course. Normally, this course is offered as a full-time programme only.
There are also courses in applied science, animal care, bee keeping, gardening, horticulture, wine making, art, interior design, fashion design and tailoring, video and photo editing, welding, DIY, stone masonry and construction qualifications, installation of renewable energy technologies, various business and management skills, make-up techniques, beauty therapy and hair care, sports psychology, electrical and electronic technologies, web and software development and programming, use of general engineering machine tools, and several programmes leading to the acquisition of licences required to operate various types of sea vessels or to work in the maritime sector. The popular 14-hour course leading to the acquisition of the Nautical Licence that is legally required by individuals who drive boats or jet-skis with an engine output of 30 H.P or more in Maltese waters is also being offered on a regular basis.
The details of each course are available on www.mcast.edu.mt/shortcourses, where one can also book a course by applying online.
