Seven migrants spotted on Pelagic Islands

Seven migrants were traced last night on the Pelegic Islands, in the province of Agrigento, by an Italian coastguard vessel.

The presence of the seven migrants on the Lampione island, which is usually uninhabited, was signalled by some fishermen in the area. The seven migrants, all men from North Africa, were immediately taken on board the Italian coastguard vessel.

The men are going to be transferred to Porto Empedocle on board a ferry boat, and then taken to an unidentified reception centre in Sicily.
