A person has been shot after a gunman opened fire during a Florida school board meeting, according to media reports.
Police confirmed that one person was shot, but refuse to reveal if it was the gunman.
A television reporter at the meeting said a man went up to the podium at the Bay District School Board meeting and said he had a motion to propose.
He then pulled out a can of red spray paint and painted a V+ with a circle around it.
The reporter said the man then brandished a handgun and started talking.
Reporter Nadeen Yanes, a school board member, told TV station WMBB she then tried to disarm the man.
She hit him with her purse and he pushed her to the ground before he started firing randomly.
Yanes and others ran outside.
Police confirmed a shooting but had no further information.
