Updated | Man injured in roof collapse

A construction worker, 58, was grievously injured when a stack of steel concrete reinforcing meshes fell onto him while being transported by crane at about 11.10 a.m., in Triq il-Qammiegħ, Mellieħa.

The roof slabs, part of a summer house in Ghadira bay, fell on top of the man when he was working inside the property.

The man was freed from beneath the stack by the Civil Protection Department and rushed to Mater Dei Hospital, but his condition is not yet known.
