Transport Malta will not introduce road tolls

Transport Malta is not considering the introduction of road tolls, the authority declared in a statement.

“Road tolls are not part of Transport Malta’s National Transport Strategy. The strategy is being compiled and will be discussed during a nationwide public consultation process,” TM said.

“Road tolls cannot be introduced on roads funded by the European Union,” the authority said, but added that a proposal for free public transport during peak hours was being actively studied.
