Aftermath of the Mosta whirlwind

A whirlwind in Mosta wreaked havoc yesterday, causing part of the roof of a Lidl supermarket as well as a balcony to collapse.

In the wake of the storm, MaltaToday photographer James Bianchi visited the town to see the damage caused by the whirlwind.

Malta has been struck by bad weather and the Malta International Airport MET office are forecasting thundery showers tomorrow.

The rain is expected to persist throughout the rest of the week.

The island is also expected to be swept by winds reaching a force of four.
