Effective security foils attempted theft from BOV Qawra ATM

BOV’s Cashlink ATM in Qawra was the target of an attempted robbery last night

Security systems deployed by the Bank successfully foiled the attempted robbery. No cash was stolen from the ATM.

The bank is cooperating with the police who are investigating.

Whilst noting that the security measures deployed by the Bank proved to be effective and have given the expected results, BOV said that the Qawra Cashlink ATM is being temporarily decommissioned in view of the ongoing investigations and pending interventions to re-secure the site and to repair the ATM from damage sustained during the attempt.

The bank condemns this criminal act and would like to apologise to all it's customers who make use of the Qawra ATM for the temporary suspension of service.

Bank of Valletta intends to restore service from the Qawra ATM as soon as possible. In the meantime customers may obtain service from the new Super ATM that the Bank has recently installed at the newly inaugurated Bugibba branch at triq il-Halel and other ATMs in the area.
