At least 65 people have been killed in multiple blasts in Syrian government coastal strongholds, reports say.

Explosions hit the cities of Tartous and Jableh, even though attacks of this scale are rare in these areas.

A UK-based monitoring group said several of the blasts were caused by suicide bombers, while Syrian media pinpointed bus stations and a hospital as being among the targets hit by the bombs.

Syrian state TV said the bus station in Tartous was hit by at least one suicide bomber on foot and a car bomber.

The state news agency, Sana, reports that rockets hit the entrance of another bus station in Jableh, further north.

A news agency linked to terrorist group Daesh said the group was behind the attack.
