Azzopardi competed in the "Kings of Muay Thai" event which is one of the most expected event in Luxembourg. His match was a 5x2 in K1 rules with gloves only in the semi professional category. The night offered matches between clubs from France, Belgium and Luxembourg from amateur to professional level. Azzopardi's opponent was Maxime Lefevre from France.

The first round was a calm one where both athletes studied each others' technique but Lefevre started gaining points with high kicks. In the second round Azzopardi began to put pressure on the adversary with punches and ending the attacks with knee strikes. In the rest of the rounds both athletes went for close quarter techniques with multiple knee techniques.

The two athletes pressed each other on the ropes and in the corners to collect points by punches.  It was not an easy decision for the judges since none of the competitors gave pause in their attacks. In the end it was a decision in favour of Azzopardi that gave him victory with points.

Currently Azzopardi is training with Sandsak Muay Thai club in Luxembourg in the dicipline of Muay Thai. While here in Malta he trains with Ying Yang Team Noel in Kickboxing. In this match Azzopardi represented both clubs as well as Malta and Luxembourg.
