Sirens and Exiles chalk up wins

Sirens earned a hardly fought victory against a plucky Marsascala side who were always in contention throughout the match although they did not win a single session. Sirens shaded the final three sessions with the first ending 2-2. Both teams had their foreign players in good form with Botond and Koralji keeping the Southseasiders in contention while Sirens also had Varga and Vasovic scoring regularly.
Sirens forged ahead at the end of the second session and maintained their advantage stretching it two three by the end of the match which ended 14-11 with the St paul’s Bay team with maximum points after two games and Marsascala losing their three opening matches.

In a match which was surprisingly one sided, Exiles registered a huge win against luckless Ta’ Xbiex who faded badly in the final two sessions. Cousin and Bonca scored eight goals between them but almost all the players got into the act and registered their name on the scoresheet.
In the first half of the match, Ta’ Xbiex kept up the pace with the Sliema team but still were three goals down at the change of ends. Then Exiles exploded scoring a record 14 goals in two sessions with Ta’ Xbiex completely demolished and out of it completely. The result left Exiles on two points from three matches with Ta’ Xbiex without a point and with three heavy defeats practically condemning them to Second Division waterpolo later on in the season.
